Easy Harry Potter-Themed Snacks For A Magical Party
If you’re planning a Harry Potter-themed party, you’ve come to the right place! I’ve put together a whole bunch of themed snacks that will be a huge hit at a Harry Potter party, or even a Halloween!
The best part about these snacks is that they’re all easy to create, you can make them ahead to display on your dessert/snack table, or you can make them together as a party activity.
Transport your friends and family to Hogwarts with these Harry Potter-themed snacks. From chocolate frogs to edible wands, we’ve got all the recipes and ideas you need to create a spellbinding party.
1. DIY Broomstick Snacks
These adorable broomsticks are easy to make and easy to customize. We made them with pretzels, cheese and licorice, but you can make a more adult version with breadsticks, cheese and chives. They look effective and tie into a witch, wizard or Harry Potter-themed party perfectly!
2. Licorice Wands
Can a magical party be complete without some wands? Make it even more magical but making edible wands! Not only do they look amazing for Harry Potter table decor, but they taste delicious too and they are really easy to make.
3. Harry Potter Chocolate Frogs
Chocolate frogs are a must-have treat for any Harry Potter, witch-themed or Halloween party! They are easy to make, yummy to eat and add so much to a magical event. Whether you’re hosting a birthday party or a Potter movie night these chocolate frogs will bring the wizarding world to life.
What I love most about the chocolate frogs is how fancy and professional they look, yet how easy and simple they are to make. You don’t need to be an expert in the kitchen to get these right!
4. Mini Cauldron Cakes
With a few simple ingredients and some mini cauldrons, you can make these Harry Potter delicacies. Start with a simple sponge cake to fill the cauldron with. Use colored buttercream frosting, (choose colors that match your theme) and decorate them with sprinkles.
These are ideal if you don’t want to make a big cake, instead, decorate the table with these miniature ones that will have the kids running!
5. Sorting Hat Cheese Ball
This Sorting Hat Cheese Ball is a creative treat for a Harry Potter party! Shaped to resemble the iconic Sorting Hat, this cheese ball is as delicious as it is magical. Shape the mixture into a cone adding dents for the brows and mouth. Cover the cheese in poppy seeds and use crackers for the hat rim.
6. Pumpkin Pasties
Don’t fret if you can’t ride the Hogwarts Express, you can still enjoy its famous Pumpkin Pasties. Easy to make, the pasties are made with ready-made pastry and filled with spiced pumpkin. They’re ideal for entertaining in the fall, serve them up at your next Halloween or wizard party!
7. Vampire Apple Teeth
This vampire apple teeth recipe comes from one of my favorite food bloggers, Half Baked Harvest. I often find great supper ideas in her blog; her recipes are not only delicious but also creatively unique.
These vampire teeth are no exception. They strike the perfect balance of eerie yet appealing, and they’re incredibly simple to prepare. You can use them as table decorations or make them during the party for a fun crafting activity. Perfect for a witch-themed Halloween party or a Harry Potter one, they’ll add a touch of spookiness!
8. Harry Potter Jelly Slugs
If you’re looking for an easy way to get Harry Potter-themed food without too much effort involved, these jelly slugs are what you need.
You can empty jellies from the packaging and lay them out in a dish, or you can leave them in the packaging and let the kids help themselves to a packet of Harry Potter jelly slugs! Since the packaging is Harry Potter-themed, it would be a shame not to show it off!
9. Easy Treacle Tart Recipe
Treacle Tart Pie is famously known in the Harry Potter world as the pie made by the elves. But, not all of us have elves to bake for us, luckily you can follow this easy recipe and try it out yourself!
It lasts well at room temperature so it can be made in advance. Serve it with custard, cream or ice cream.
10. Hagrid’s Rock Cakes
Hagrid’s cakes are notoriously known as cakes that break the teeth and are best to be avoided at all times. Despite that, a classic rock cake is actually rather delicious. Crumbly on the outside and soft and dense on the inside.
If you’re making a Harry Potter party, I recommend making the classic version that is well-loved, over Hagrid’s inedible one! Get the delicious recipe below!
11. Polyjuice Potion Jelly Shots
While these Polyjuice Potion shots won’t change your appearance like the ones in Harry Potter, they’re still perfect for decorating a Harry Potter table and are fun to eat.
The vibrant green color might look unappetizing at first glance, but that’s all part of the magical charm of this Harry Potter-inspired jelly. Don’t be put off by it because these are actually delicious and extremely easy to make!
12. Butterbeer Fudge
Harry Potter is famously known for butterbeer treats. Spoil the kids at the party with these delicious Harry Potter-inspired butterbeer fudge squares. It only takes 5-minutes to make a huge batch that looks super appetizing on the table. Give these a go and you’ll have everyone begging for more!
13. Harry Potter Food Board
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you’ll know I love food boards. In fact, I have a whole blog post dedicated to food boards! The reason I love them so much is that they often have simple food that’s been laid out pretty simply too, but when it’s all together on a board it looks super effective!
A food board is a classy way to lay out the food, and don’t these Harry Potter treats look cute?
