Don’t worry- we’ve got you covered! This party cleanup checklist printable will help you reset your home, organize your decorations, and get your space ready for the new year. The best part- it’s FREE to download and print!
Why a Post-Christmas Cleanup Is Worth It
I’m sure I don’t need to explain why you need a clean-up after the holidays! If you’ve been there, done that, you’ll know! Between discarded wrapping paper, leftover food, scattered decorations, pine needles from the tree, and extra clutter from gifts, a cleanup is a necessity for most!
While some prefer to leave it until “sometime later”, getting it over and done with before January gives the year a fresher start, which is why I put together this free printable checklist. Print it out and check off the tasks as you go along.

Tips to Make Cleanup Easier
- Don’t try to do everything in one day, because all you’ll end up with is exhaustion and burnout. Break tasks into manageable chunks: maybe tree/decorations one day, kitchen the next, then living room, etc. A room-by-room approach is a good idea to avoid burnout.
- Recruit help. If your household includes family or children, assign age-appropriate tasks to get them involved. Yep, even children can help with simple, easy tasks that will take work off your head.
- Use the right cleaning supplies: multipurpose spray, microfiber cloths, garbage bags, and, if needed, stain removers or carpet cleaner for post-party mess.
- Play music while cleaning! A bit of fun goes a long way when you’re sorting, packing, and scrubbing. Make a playlist of music that will keep the mood light. It helps manage those post-holiday blues!
